Requirements for Teens Drivers

How It Works

Phase 1

Classroom Hours

32 Hours

Once a school administrator has enrolled the students into DrivingQuest, they will now have access to the online drivers ed program.

Schools who are using DrivingQuest as an elective will have ability to set time restrictions allowing students to access the online course between a specified time.

Phase 2

Submit Certificate to DPS

Obtain Permit

After the student reaches the first 6-hours of the online course, they will receive their certificate via email. This Learner License certificate-(DE964) will need to be submitted to Department of Public Safety (DPS) to receive their official Learners License “driving permit”.

Additionally, Texas requires parents to purchase the TDLR Parent Taught guide application (PTDE.) This application must be purchased separately from DrivingQuest and is not included in cost of the DrivingQuest program.

Phase 4
